Rejuran is an innovative skin biorevitalisation treatment based on polynucleotides (PNs) — purified DNA fragments used in aesthetic medicine to stimulate the skin’s natural renewal and regeneration processes.
The aim of Rejuran is not to add volume or alter facial features. Instead, it is designed to improve skin quality, texture, hydration, elasticity and tone, while stimulating the skin’s own regenerative processes.
What Are Polynucleotides?
Polynucleotides are chains made up of repeating units called nucleotides, the basic building blocks of DNA. In aesthetic medicine, they are used as skin regenerators that work through biological processes associated with tissue repair and renewal.
Rejuran polynucleotides are derived from the reproductive cells of wild salmon. They undergo a specialised process of purification, hydrolysis and size selection. The patented DOT™ (DNA Optimizing Technology) enables the production of highly purified, high-molecular-weight polynucleotides.
How Does Rejuran Work?
Polynucleotides participate in cellular regeneration and tissue repair processes. Their effects are associated with:
- Stimulating fibroblast activity.
- Supporting the regeneration of the extracellular matrix and subcutaneous tissue.
- Anti-inflammatory effects.
- Improving skin quality and structure.
The result is not a sudden change in appearance, but a gradual improvement in skin quality. Following a course of treatments, the skin may appear smoother, fresher and more even, with a reduction in the visibility of fine lines, pores and certain types of scars.
