If you have indented acne scars that give your skin an uneven appearance, subcision is one of the most effective methods for reducing them.
Subcision is a minimally invasive dermatological procedure that targets the deeper causes of scarring. It is a technique that uses a thin needle or cannula to release fibrous adhesions under the skin, structures that "pull” the skin’s surface downward and create depressions.
During the treatment, under local anesthesia, these bonds are carefully separated, allowing the skin to lift and gradually straighten. At the same time, the natural process of collagen formation is stimulated, which further improves the structure and firmness of the skin.
The treatment is relatively quick, and the recovery is short. Mild bruising and swelling are possible, which resolve within a few days. Results develop gradually, as the skin renews and regenerates.
Subcision is particularly effective for deeper, atrophic scars that do not respond to superficial treatments. For optimal results, it is often combined with other treatments such as PB Serum, medical microneedling or UltraClear laser, as each method works on a different layer and type of damage. Which protocol is right for you depends on the type and depth of your scars, and we assess this based on individual consultations.
